What is the All-In Mentorship Program?

Founded in the summer of 2021 by Dr. Paul Rufo and Dr. Diana Hurwitz with Felicia Ho, the All-In Mentorship (AIM) program connects Harvard alumni in healthcare with Harvard College students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Our name, the “All-In” Mentorship program, recognizes our commitment to especially support and encourage students from first-generation low-income or underrepresented minority backgrounds, those without family members in medicine, and non-science concentrators as they embark on their pre-medical careers.

For the 2023-24 academic year, we will be accepting applications for mentors and mentees on a rolling basis, matching them by the 1st of every month.

Mentor applications are now available here. Mentee applications are now available here.

Guidance

Mentors and mentees are required to meet at least once per month, during which they will discuss any challenges that the mentee has faced in their time as a premedical student at Harvard and future directions.

Cause

Mentors are dedicated to being compassionate and patient with their mentees, and mentees are likewise motivated and inspired to continue their studies in medicine. Our greater cause is not to necessarily push more people to pursue medicine, but rather to provide more resources for those who may be interested and support them in making the right choice on whether to pursue medicine.

Learning

We host speaker series and career panel events for the mentees featuring many of our mentors as well as featured guest speakers. We also provide a space for mentees to meet each other, mingle, and get to know their peers in the community.
